- Exchanges: The West Virginia Health Benefits Exchange was established in April 2011. The state’s Office of the Insurance Commissioner is tasked with staffing the board and continues to hire and appoint personnel. The state is preparing for a partial launch of the exchange in mid-2012.
- Medicaid Expansion: No official decision has been announced regarding Medicaid expansion.
- Medicare Advantage Enrollment: West Virginia currently has 85,869 seniors and people with disabilities enrolled in Medicare Advantage, or about 22% of all Medicare beneficiaries.
