  • Exchanges: Legislation was introduced in 2012 to create a state-run exchange, but the bill remains pending in the legislature. Governor Kasich has indicated that the state will explore all options, although Lieutenant Governor Taylor is opposed to any state-based exchange.
  • Medicaid Expansion: Governor Kasich announced in February that Ohio will be participating in the Medicaid expansion.
  • Medicare Advantage Enrollment: Ohio currently has 738,703 seniors and people with disabilities enrolled in Medicare Advantage, or about 37% of all Medicare beneficiaries.
