- Exchanges: Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has announced that the state will not pursue any state-run insurance exchange. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will then be tasked with operating an exchange within the state.
- Rate Review: Louisiana currently has an ‘ineffective’ rate review system, per its HHS designation. The state has not taken any legislative action on rate review protocol this session.
- Medicaid Expansion: Governor Jindal has said he will not be expanding Medicaid.
- Medicare Advantage Enrollment: Louisiana currently has 194,279 seniors and people with disabilities enrolled in Medicare Advantage, or about 27% of all Medicare beneficiaries.
