Poll Vault: Survey Shows Americans Continue to Think Reform Law Will Increase Costs

Rasmussen Reports has been asking 1,000 likely voters the following question since passage of the reform law over one year ago:

Under the new health care reform plan, will the cost of health care go up, go down, or stay about the same?

Here is how this question has trended over the past year plus:

The highest percentage of likely voters who think costs will go up under the new law is 61% which has been reached on the following dates:

  • July 16-17, 2010
  • December 26, 2010
  • March 12-13, 2011

The percentage of likely voters who think costs will go down under the new law has only gone over 20% three times:

  • April 2-3, 2010 (21%)
  • October 16-17, 2010 (21%)
  • February 4-5, 2011 (20%)
