As has been the case in the past month, this week will be a busy week for health care related hearings on the hill.
The big hearing this week will be in front of the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday begininning at 10:00 AM, where HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will testify in the first panel and in a second panel Paul van de Water and Douglas Holtz-Eakin will appear.

10:00 AM – The House Armed Services Subcommittee on Military Personnel will hold a hearing on “Military Health System Overview and Defense Health Program Cost Efficiencies.” (2212 Rayburn)
1:00 PM – The House Ways and Means Committee will hold a hearing on the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission’s (MedPAC) annual report to Congress on Medicare payment policies. The scheduled witness is MedPAC Chairman Glen Hackbarth. (1100 Longworth)
1:30 PM – The House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on Health Care and D.C. will hold a hearing on “Obamacare: Why The Need For Waivers?” (2247 Rayburn)

10:00 AM – The House Budget Committee will hold a hearing on “Fulfilling the Mission of Health and Retirement Security.” (210 Cannon)
2:00 PM – The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, FDA, and Related Agencies will hold a hearing on the budget for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The scheduled witnesses are FDA Commissioner Peggy Hamburg, Assistant FDA Commissioner for Budget Patrick McGarey, and Deputy Assistant HHS Secretary for Budget Norris Cochran. (124 Dirksen)
